Hi everyone,
In order to test the P&P system I started converting Marvel caracters.
I will post them here for these purposes :
- It may help some of you who would play in the Marvel Universe ;
- You may discuss those builds, with ideas on how I can improve then (so, I encourage you to comment my choices) ;
- To see if P&P can manage to represent the diversity of powers in such an iconic universe, and discuss the better way of doing it.
A foreword on benchmark : When I first tryed to convert caracters, using the benchmark provided in the rulebook, I ended with far more HD than indicated in the caracter creation chapter. So, I leveled down a lot of things to stay in the 30-60 range (generally). So I try to be consistant caracter by caracter, but not necessarily respectful of the bench indicated in the rules (for strength and speed for exemple).
I use the optional rule below :
OPTIONAL STRIKE VERSION
You have some kind of close combat attack described when you select this trait. You can use this trait to attack and defend yourself in melee combat. The stronger you are, the less this trait costs: you get a 1 hero die discount on this trait for every 2 full hero dice you spend on Might. For example, a 3d Might grants you no discount, a 7d Might grants you a 2 hero die discount, and a 10d Might grants you a 4 hero die discount. You must still spend at least 1 hero die to buy this trait. If you spend hero points to increase your Might in the future, your Strike rank will go up by 1 point for every full 2 points by which you raise your Might rank.
A last note : I apologise in advance for my grammar which may not be optimal, as I'm french.
So, let's start with a true iconic one : SPIDER-MAN
