Demon Force is the Team assigned to protect Valiant City by NAEP. the PC team will consist of the entire roster of the Demon Force. NEO will start off behind the scenes, and in some cases might become active. but he's always the mentor/ leader. think of him like Yoda from the prequel trilogy, nice quiet leader but if he needs to distribute butt whooping he can do so.
The characters will be the players and then one or two NPC that i will include which might fit any gaps that maybe i see in the team (for example if you guys all play kungfu sword choppers the npc will mostly be ranged super heroes ext)
Demon Force initial focus is to protect the city and to reestablish the kind of peace that was common in the city before the invasion (see the character creation thread for more info)
The City is in shock, its been 3 years since the invasion that took 1/4th of their city (and population) and killed their paragon protector. in the last 3 years various "lone wolf" heroes have tried to move in and claim Valiant city as their home to protect. but the scope of the city proved to be too much for them. some of these heroes who failed never put on a costume again from humiliation, others have moved on to more safer locales to protect. So the typical perception of citizens at the start of this campaign is mixed, the majority i will say is pessimistic and think demon Force is just another failed publicity stunt to try and keep the citizens calm. while another good portion of the citizens think that because its a TEAM looking over now instead of a single hero, things will get better, and they are genuinely excited.

Games will be one or two Saturdays a month (depending on availability) start off using Roll.net
Character Will Be 36 Hero Points.
A while back DC comics did the unthinkable and shook the DC comics world by having their iconic Paragon SUPERMAN, Die in defense of the city. This like a lot of comic book deaths has been cheapened by the return and or resurrection of the heroes making their deaths seem almost meaningless in the end. but for a short time there, before Superman came back his death echo'ed through the pages of the comics, and in my mind there was a lot of lost opportunity for some awesome stories in a world "in mourning" of such an icon. That being said, the valiant city setting i will be running will be such a setting. yes Valiant City is metaphor of Metropolis. and Valiant city at one time had its Hero. (i have not yet came up with a name but i will edit this when i do). this hero defended Valiant city and the world for many years until an alien invasion came to earth and nearly destroyed Valiant city in an invasion. The Hero of the city gave his life in defending the city and he managed to stop the invasion. so Valiant cit lost its hero and in 3 years crime has risen. at this time the government stepped in by forming the NAEP ( National Association of Enhanced Paranormals) This task force assigns, coordinates, and keeps heroes of America in tune with each other. it was through this new network that many new "teams" have been formed to watch over locations in need of heroes, or in the current case a city who lost her's. NAEP assessment determined that a single hero would most likely not be successful for the scope of rehabilitation that Valiant city needs. So they put together a task force Code named Demon Force.
1/4 of Valiant city is in ruins, this part of the city has been walled off and quarantined from civilian exposure. at this walls main gate a memorial was erected to honor the sacrifice of the Hero, and civilians who died in this invasion.

Ok i will start you off in a small team with one or two NPC hero ally's and this will keep it simple so we can do something to get started but also will give us room incase we find other players who wish to join us after we get started. (if you know anyone who might be interested personally i would get a hold of them and let them know) ill probably use roll20.net & Skype instead of fantasy grounds , even tho i love fantasy grounds just because its free. but if players happen to have fantasy grounds and wish to use that we can do that too at that point. go ahead and put together your 36 point hero build and then ill add the 2 NPC that best accompanies your build.
basics before we start....
1- Location : Valiant City (metropolis in disarray after a failed Invasion that cost a lot of collateral damage) 2- Team: The Government created the Supers Division also known as the National Association of Enhanced Paranormals (or NAEP), your Squad will be a special ops Division of NAEP codenamed "Demon Force" 3- The current Leader of Demon Force is NEO (Nuclear Energized Orb) he's simply a softball sized ball of energy that communicates telepathically, nothing else is known about him by the player characters starting out. 4- The current Leader of NAEP is Codenamed Minds Eye. a telepath who was appointed by the president himself. 5- Supers that refuse to join the ranks of NAEP are known as Deserters. they are not obligated to serve in NAEPS ranks but not doing so is akin to burning the flag in current societies eyes.

Any chance we can get a form fillable Character sheet please? or maybe a sheet that isn't password protect from me being able to use the "sign" feature on adobe to fill in my character sheet? are we animals now? expected to use archaic tools of sorcery? (Pencils) lol!
Also i had an Idea about making a single sheet that can have 4 characters on it, like a team Roster. ill play around with some things and see what i can get.

Fantasygrounds.com is in my opinion the BEST virtual rig table available, nothing specific other than seeing who all i find interested, ill fill in details when i get another player interested (or two) and most likely i will put together the setting based on the players and characters, so if the group wants to do "saturday morning cartoon" style that will work, or if you prefer "dark n gritty" i could think of something for that too. best to set up the setting to fit the characters,

Whenever Real life gets in the way, take 2 more of the blue pills. well we can start out small, if i can get ONE more, i can maybe start a Dynamic Duo sorta super team. less to worry about scheduling. and then as we go if we find that everything clicks we could bring in another player or two as we go. (even if its just a guest appearance or something) so when are you free, lets start with that Nestor?

Fantasy Grounds, or Roll20 < Any one wanna play sometime using any of these virtual machines? there isn't a ruleset for P&P yet for Fantasy grounds, but since it is so simple we could probably just use the basic ruleset.
Eastern time, 1x a month, maybe up to 2x if we get to having fun and stuff down the road. most likely saturday (not the first saturday of the month) we can knock out specifics after i find some interested.

I just thought of a great idea for custom dice for P&P. take a Blank D6 put 2 "Kapow" explosions outlines on 2 of the sides, and then put a "kapow" explosion that is color'ed in on a 3rd side. make them in sets of 12. and color code them to your character sheet (purple for magic, green for natural, red for psionic, blue for super, grey for tech, and orange for training)
so go and kickstarter that crap up with the hardcover P&P deluz super edition (highest level backers get a cape) I refuse to be paid for my awesome brain skills my heroic duty is to pass this idea to you folks.
oh and in case you didn't get the dice, a Outlined Kapow is a HIT, and Filled in Kapow is a hit and then reroll. (aka exploding 6)
this way we don't have to worry about stinking numbers. LOL
