I enjoy putting together fairly minimalist characters and my group prefers to play at the 24HD "street" level. I have a concept for a character whose only power is the ability to levitate - themselves as well as other people/objects - by manipulating the strength and sign of the gravitational interaction. No sideways movement or stabilisation is possible.
This proves to be a surprisingly difficult power to model! The self-levitation aspect is easy, it's just Flight with the -2D Levitation con, but levitating other things didn't seem like it would just be Telekinesis, with or without the Levitation con applied. This is because Telekinesis can be used as a defense as well as an attack. You can stop bullets with your mind, in effect. This is what makes it a strong trait, it can attack as well as defend.
It's hard to see how Levitation could have the same defensive utility, although it's easy to see how it could be used as an attack. It seems more like Flight with the Levitation con and the casting pro - but on another level that seems like a bit of a cheat
The secondary question is exactly how Casting works. Does one application of the pro allow you to use the power once on yourself and once on others, or is it an either/or type of thing?
Thanks in advance.
