I just picked up the game and playing with the mechanics with a friend of mine. We get the Narration part of the round, but embellishments we have a little bit of confusion on. During a combat round I had one success and narrated my attack hitting him. His embellishment was that his TK pulled him out of the way, where a solid hit was lessened. I suppose that could explain why I only did one health to him, but I thought he could have added that because it was so unexpected that he was put in a better position to attack, granting him a +1D the next page.
So, is embellishment just used to describe his reaction to the attack, or could it be used as I had thought, granting a small advantage that doesn't negate my success?

As long as the embellishment doesn't render the original statement false, and only has a minor effect on gameplay, I don't see why not (with GM discretion of course)
