Hey All,
I've been reading through the rules and understanding how things are balanced in the game, and I was wondering about the topic of Mind Control; Special Attacks generally do something to temporarily remove or reduce the impact of an enemy, while Mind Control fully flips them over to your side. Considering that you don't need to concentrate by default, essentially not only have you reduced your opposition by one, but increased your own team size temporarily- a new target the other side may not want to harm either.
I was wondering if there's something I'm missing here, because comparing it to Possession, where you gain control of an opponent's body at the cost of your own, it seems a much more powerful option, even with a -2 penalty when making someone do something they don't want to do. I'd feel it'd be more balanced if you had to concentrate on mind control stuff, or they could roll to contest like confusion if you don't concentrate for a round or something, possibly just be Stunned on rounds you aren't focusing.
Thoughts? Anyone else feel the same way? Or do people play it differently, like only exactly as worded but otherwise free will (Like someone being told to fight an ally but yelling all their moves so their ally is ready or swapping to their worst weapon)?
