Ok, some musings on the illustrations:
Page 4 Well here we see the two characters that define the title, the PnP version of Batman and Superman. Actually, out of all of the designs and characters featured in the book, these are ironically the least interesting. However they feature prominently, so they need fleshing out.
Harbinger Harbinger is the champion of the night and is actually a spirit of fury, omen and retribution that inhabits souls throughout history. Although the current host has mastery of gadgets and technology, the spirit which brought him back to life has its own agenda, and can show the true fate of anyone staring into Harbingers eyes (his Omen Sight).
Praetorian Praetorian, a genetically altered guardian from the far future of Earth, after being thrown back in time uses his knowledge of a future filled with war and corruption to fuel his compassion and desire to do good. Praetorian's viewpoint often puts him at odds with Harbinger, who often acts with a mysterious and dispassionate manner. As a man out of time, Praetorian is one of the few people who are immune to Harbingers Omen sight, something that troubles Harbinger. Page 18 There are some familiar faces here: Gatecrasher, Stronghold, Combustion, Generator, Citizen Soldier, and Psidarm. There are two new faces however:
Tigris An arrogant boxer takes an experimental tiger dna steroid transforming him into a beast with incredible agility and strength
Lady Katana A mixed heritage asian woman, descendant of a great japanese female warrior. Trained herself to defend the weak against criminal gangs.

Taking some ideas from Marvel rpgs: Corrosion (x2)Your touch, whether its due to acid, napalm, or entropic death magic, causes a target to take to take damage after you have inflicted your attack. Make a Corrosion attack against the targets defences. If this inflicts any damage at all, the target takes this attack again at the start of the next page, but at -2d strength. The target continues to take this damage at -2d each further page until the attack is reduced to less than 1d, or the damage is negated in some way. The Player should define one method this can happen. For example, dowsing oneself in water would negate corrosive acid. Corrosion is particularly effective against inanimate objects. Any damage inflicted also reduces the objects Hardness by 1 for every page the material takes damage. - Corrosive Missile (+2d)
You may strike targets at range.
- Emotion-Sensitive (-2d)
Targets are only affected if they exhibit one type of emotion
- Material-Sensitive (-1d or -2d)
The attack only affects targets comprised of one form of material. This con is based on the rarity of the material. Common or broad materials like concrete, earth or metal are worth -1d. Rarer or more specific materials (lead, gold, steel) are worth -2d. - Corrosive Immunity (+3d)
You are immune to your own corrosive effect, and any similar effect (acids, napalm etc)
Reality Warping (12/24/36d) You have the ability of shaping reality around you, causing bizarre coincidences and events happening. At the 12d level, once per page you can create minor and bizarre events to happen around you, the equivalent of a lucky break from spending a point of Resolve. You are likely to become quite wealthy from this perk as you often happen upon a lucky lottery ticket or stumble upon the location of a kidnapped victim just through blind luck. At the 24d level you can also, once per scene, create a very odd coincidence or freakish event to occur such as a dramatic storm or the appearance of a specific person or item. At the 36d level you can also, once per issue, shape reality as you wish, creating a new city, summon a massive earthquake or some other massive lasting effect.

I am planning at some point to create the world illustrated within the pages of PnP, featuring names and write ups for the villains featured, the quick start heroes featured. The aim is to create a Marvel/DC inspired world, adopting the Sentinels of the Multiverse approach of flipping recognisable archetypes on their head, switching genders etc. Guess for this to work, I am starting with necessities:
Cities equivalent to Metropolis and Gotham A Shield type law enforcement agency A famous school for gifted supers Interesting heroes from Europe and across the globe A European intelligence and supers agency Alien races who have established contact Atlanteans and other ancient races A Paragon archetype hero, the first hero to emerge in the late 1930s. May not necessarily be still alive. I like the idea he/she saved earth from a massive threat and sacrificed themselves to do so. There may already be someone to inherit their powers. A team of magical, cosmic individuals protecting the earth from powerful occult and inter dimensional threats. A Hydra like organization secretly plotting to take over the world. Perhaps they have a certain high profile President under their control, ready to destabilise the world's political theatre...
Just musing at this stage... Anyone created characters out of the villains featured in the PnP book?
I intend to build this using a recent Eurocentric campaign I ran recently. This featured "The Union", a collection of European supers who operate out of their HQ built under the Atomium in Brussels.

Well if the objects are actually being moved, thats no longer the illusion power. With Illusion, a target will believe you are moving objects and even take "damage" from them while the effect is ongoing, and you could infact take the Area pro to affect many targets. But in reality, nothing is actually being moved. Personally I wouldn't bother with illusion at all, and go for Telekinesis, Images and even Constructs, treating these as sort of physical illusions. They are real enough to effect the actual world, but are clearly created from the imagination of the character.

I have heard rumours of a new edition of P&P and new settings. This sounds interesting....Any news?

I love the game. In fact its my favourite supers rpg, well ever. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to create entirely my own setting with villains and organisations. i Have started, but it has meant P&P is not played as much as i would love to play it. I actually don't think the game needs a lot of support but it is crying out for a villain and setting book. I appreciate this isn't easy. Eventually I will put together a campaign, but its slow going. Perhaps its up to us to enthuse support and demand.

Ok so here is a build. For Superman, based on values converted from the current rpg. Let's be honest, Superman is pretty broken as a character, and the high Hero Dice reflects that.
SUPERMAN Hero Dice: 150 Health: 50 Flaws: Responsibility, Secret (Secret ID), Vulnerability (Kryptonite), Power Limits (all super traits and perks lost under a red sun, and Toughnesss and Might reduced to 3D)
Traits (134d) Academics 3d, Armour 17d (power Limit- not vs magic), Athletics 3d, Blast (Heat Vision) 15d, Charm 6d, Command 4d, Flight 10d (Adjustable, Space Flight), Might 21d, Omni Power: Super Breath 15d, Perception 5d (Acute Hearing +6d), Professional (Journalist) 6d, Super Speed 10d (Adjustable), Technology 5d, Toughness 13d, Willpower 4d
Perks (16d) Headquarters, Immunity (all harmful environments), Leadership, Super Senses (ultra hearing, X-Ray vision, telescopic vision, microscopic vision, thermal vision), Fame, Contact, Authority

Welcome! Yes there is very little traffic on these forums these days, which I consider a great shame as this game is so good. I ran a short campaign late last year and everyone had a blast. Personally my favourite aspect of the game is the way players contribute to the world, which for a game without an official game universe is essential. I think it's a great shame that this game is not better supported because it is crying out for villains, organisations. However, I have found it relatively easy to create enemies because the rules are not overly complicated.
I am pretty sure you could have Batman and Superman because the game is more narratively driven than some point buy systems. The Bat has plenty points sunk into gadgets and vehicles and skills. I personally wouldn't vary the power levels between players though as that is not fair. Unless you are trying to accurately simulate actual comic characters, it's just not fair to have a player feel like a sidekick to another player, and I am pretty sure if you make a build for Batman and Superman, the power levels probably aren't too far off anyway. when I have time, I shall put together a build for both characters to see if that's the case. From my campaign, I had a player could could manifest into a giant dragon, and a plucky skill based rocketeer, both with the same power level, and they both had as much contribution to completing the scenario.

Hi! I agree. Hands down, this is my favourite superhero game ever. Well you make a very good point. Yes, embellishment happens on any roll, even in combat. I must admit I am a little poor on this ruling, but perhaps some suggestions of possible embellishments would be good here. Any ideas welcome!

Immortal, as described in the books, is really just Immunity (Ageing), rather than true immortality. Here is my take on an actual Immortality power:
Immortality (1D) Your character cannot actually die in the normal sense. Normally this occurs when reduced to below minus your Health rating, but a character with this pro remains at minus their Health rating, slowly recovering using natural healing (or Regeneration of possessed). They will not be able to take any action until they are restored to above 0 Health. It is possible to trap such a character if they continue to suffer pain, such as being held underwater or in lava. This Perk even allows a character to reattach lost limbs and body parts, unless the Hero's atoms are scattered across the universe.

The campaign limit refers to the dice in your ability, so in a standard game, a player could have Blast 10D (Penetrating), for a total cost of 16HD.

Yes I like that way of doing it. Use either your actual strike dice to make penetrating strike, or your Might +1 to make regular attacks

Hi Disaster! Personally, Omni Power is probably your cheapest option. Personally I would apply the Variant advantage to that, so you buy +6D pro to channel 4 elements with Omni Power. I would, however, suggest doing the same for blasts, as they really drain Resolve , same with other one-shot effects. It is very quiet here but please keep posting so we can kick start this! I am currently running a campaign and loving it!

Here are some new pros and cons:
Effect (+1D) The power can be used to create some innocuous but useful special effect, such as generating light by which you can see. If you don’t have a suitable power, you can turn this mod into its own 1d perk.
Homing (varies) This pro applied to Blast enables a failed roll to be re-rolled at the start of the next page. This requires no action to do so, and the attack may be re attempted in this way for a number of pages equal to the hero dice invested in this pro.
Persistent (varies) This pro is taken for Blast or Strike and represents attacks which continue to harm or damage a target after the initial attack, such as toxins, napalm, corrosive acid or a Dim Mak martial art strike. If a target takes damage from your attack, at the start of each further page, they must use a passive defence (Typically Toughness or Willpower) against damage equal to the hero dice invested in this pro, until an attack is fully defended against, losing 1D each further page. A target only needs to defend against the highest persistent attack, even if suffering from the effects of more than one such attack.
Imbue (+4D) Applied to powers that normally affect only your own body (like Invisibility or Phasing), this pro lets you affect other characters and objects by touching them. You can affect as much material as you could lift with a Might rank equal to your Willpower rank. Imbuing an object or character takes an action, and any powers gained last until the end of the current scene.
Self-Directed (varies) Usually applied to attack powers, this pro means that the power has a mind of its own and can perform its own separate attack during any page in which you don’t actively use it. The power acts on your Edge but rolls 1d for every hero dice put into this pro to attack (up to the trait's rank) when you aren’t directing it. You may spend Resolve on this attack as if you are making the roll.
Tangible (+4D) This pro can be applied to physical powers making them usable, even when intangible or phasing.
Personal (+1d) For whatever reason (access codes, genetic tagging, worthiness, etc.), you are the only person who can use the item.
Returning (+2d) When applied to Strike with the item con, this means that the weapon can be used to perform ranged attacks, and will somehow return to you after each throw.
Summoned (+1d) Applied to a power with the Item con, you don’t actually carry the weapon or item around. Instead, you instantly summon it to you whenever you need it.
Throwing (+1d) When applied to Strike with the item con, the weapon can be used to perform ranged attacks, although you’ll need to recover the weapon after throwing it.

Well I am currently writing the mini campaign. Had a character gen session this week and it looks like I will have to alter my ideas anyway, as the players have ended up with a European super group. I will pick up on my previous campaign idea though with a slew of Russian mutants created from the Chernobyl experiment, which was covered up as a nuclear reactor explosion. those pesky ruskies are up to something...
