On an only slightly-related topic, I came up with a way of emulating P&P dice rolls in the Dicenomicon app, which helped immensely in my demos. The only mod is that it calculates successes as >3 rather than using odds/evens.

I was actually thinking of a forum of some sort to engage in the nitty-gritty of character creation and discussion. Of course, if Len doesn't mind us using this forum, we can go on as we have. With that said, I do have some setting questions: - Is the PC team (or PC/NPC team) a squad within Demon Force, or does it comprise the division as a whole? If the latter, what function does NEO play in the game (e.g., offscreen NPC mentor/leader, active NPC)?
- What sort of characters will the NPC team members be? For that matter, I strongly recommend we have a starting session where we create our characters as a group, so as to ensure we have a strong complementing team.
- What is Demon Force's mission focus? Law Enforcement? Search & Rescue?
- What is the general public's perception of supers? Are the saviors, or are they seen as failing to prevent the invaison and the devastation it caused?

No worries. I will cogitate on an appropriate character to unleash in this setting. Does roll20.net have a messaging system or chat? I figured this would be the point when we move off this forum to continue our machinations.

I suppose so. I prefer to think of it more that the trait with the Con costs one die less. You're still limited by the maximum trait rank based on your character's power level, but other than that, go for it!

Either way would work with me. From an online perspective, I recall that groups larger then 4-5 tend to get unwieldly in terms of keeping the pace going, but that's dependent on the group.

For the record, I'm a fan of the DC:AU style (especially the Justice League series); basically what's usually referred to as the Bronze age of comics. Another good example of my preferred style is Kurt Busiek's Astro City. I'll take a look at the Fantasy Grounds site. Thanks!

Saturday night is a good start, although I may have to bow out around 10PM. (What can I say?I'm old) Did you have a specific venue in mind? You mentioned Roll20, I've heard of it but not Fantasy Grounds.

I've done my share of online gaming, pretty much PbP and PbEmail, but haven't done the real-time stuff. I'd be certainly interested, although I can't guarantee my availability; damn Real Life(tm) gets in the way.

Glad you like him. Like I said, he is one of my favorites in my stable of characters, and I'm hoping I'll get a chance to play him at some point.

You know I'll be there! I've been checking the catalog on a regular basis to see if any events show up. What did you use as the Game System? Makes it easier to search.

Thanks to awesome Lakeside Len, I got my copy this week, despite torrential downpours.
Quick review: Awesome art; it has to be seen in color to be fully appreciated. It's surprisingly slim for being chock-full of good stuff. Two thumbs, way up!

I'm not normally someone who uses miniatures a lot in his games, but I came across this review and my first thought was, "That ape looks familiar." You be the judge. Reaper Bones #94: Ape-X, Super Villain
